Red mud is the major waste material produced during alumina production following the Bayers process. Depending on the quality of the raw material processed 1– tons of red mud is generated
There is growing interest in processing and utilizing the red mud byproduct of the Bayer process for alumina extraction from bauxite. This interest stems largely from the environmental impacts associated with red mud and the storage costs involved. Furthermore complete utilization of the raw materials in this case bauxite meets an ecological concept while ensuring raw material conservation
Red mud is a product of the Bayer process during the production of alumina (Hairi et al. 2015). As the temperature and pressure increases the solubility of red mud decreases with sodium hydroxide (Nie et al. 2016). Its composition depends upon its parent material from which it is produced (Liu and Wu 2012).
· Orbite Aluminae Inc. has developed a technology capable of remediating red mud which is produced through traditional methods of alumina production. Using an entirely chemical process the technology has been shown to both extract alumina from aluminous clay and bauxite and to treat red mud residue resulting from the Bayer process.
· Ender Keskinkilic Saeid Pournaderi Ahmet Geveci Yavuz A. Topkaya Smelting Studies for Recovery of Iron from Red Mud 10th International Symposium on HighTemperature Metallurgical Processing /_46 (489499) (2019).
199957 · material known as red mud is separated from the sodium aluminate solution washed to recover the caustic soda and then pumped to disposal areas. The disposal of red mud can present an environmental problem simply because there is so much of it. From a few alumina plants red mud is deposited on the sea bed under strictly controlled conditions.
With the increasingly stringent emission standards of flue gas a demonstration project of desulfurizing by "red mudlimestone process" was established to make the flue gas meet the Emission Standards of Pollutants for Aluminum shown by the detection results the emission concentration of Sulfur dioxide (SO 2) was less than 50 mg/m 3 and the particulate pollutant was less than
· Reducing red mud from the bauxite equation Aluminum is the most common metal element found on Earth. However the aluminum we use today comes in the form of aluminum metal and alumina also known as aluminum oxide which is produced from bauxite.
· Red mud is a toxic waste left as a byproduct in aluminum production Bayer process. Since it contains significant concentrations of other chemical elements interesting for industry including Rare Earths Elements (REEs) it is also potential secondary ore source. Recent events in some countries have shown that red mud presents a serious environmental hazard if not properly stored. The subject
200378 · If red mud is completely neutralised 1520 times the volume of sea water is required. This requires extensive and expensive pumping and although results in an inert product it is completely worthless. However Virotec has found that slightly less than complete neutralisation can be achieved with much less seawater.
201282 · Treating red mud from the Bayer processa new technology. Canadian clean tech company Orbite Aluminae has developed a patented technology that can treat red mud the most significant waste product of the traditional Bayer process for aluminium production. The company says it "offers the only ecologically sound and commercially viable
201153 · Nowadays the modern clay production process in western countries is an optimal mechanized and automatic process fully controlled to get the best quality products out of the process. The modern production processes are based on different shapes and colors.
· Red mud is a caustic waste material of bauxite ore processing for alumina extraction. Bayer process is commonly used for digestion of bauxite ore in a solution of conc. NaOH at a temperature of 150–230˚C under pressure. During the digestion process aluminum reacts with NaOH to form soluble sodium aluminate leaving red mud slurry 1 .

· Red mud is the tailings generated from the production process of aluminum industry and is mainly stacked in openair at present so how to ensure the stability of red mud stockpile is very important. Regarding mud stockpile of Guizhou Aluminum Factory as the research object this paper studies the physical and mechanical properties of Bayer red mud from wetting process Bayer red mud
· Bricks may be made from clay shale soft slate calcium silicate concrete or shaped from quarried stone. Clay is the most common material with modern clay bricks formed in one of three processessoft mud dry press or wire cut. The soft mud method is
· Red mud was used in the supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) disposal of sewage sludge not only as a neutralizer for acidic substances produced in situ but also as a catalyst for decomposition of initial amounts of 2 4 6 and 8 of red mud the total carbon (TC) value of the solid residue increased from mg g −1 to and mg g −1 respectively.

Hydrus technology allows the treatment of Red Mud for safe use as a landfill by removing contaminants without the use of hazardous chemicals. From a commercial perspective Hydrus technology recovers up to 50 of the iron oxide from Red Mud that has a considerable commercial value. Industrial solutions. Water treatment for steam boilers
In the Bayer process of extraction of alumina from bauxite the insoluble product generated after bauxite digestion with sodium hydroxide at elevated temperature and pressure is known as red mud or bauxite residue . This alumina refinery waste is highly alkaline in nature with a pH of a
